Local Citizen Training Opportunity!

Woodlands & Waterways EcoWatch has opened registration for a 2-part citizen training program focusing on benthic macroinvertebrate sampling. This program involves an online webinar that will provide participants with the background knowledge of why, how, and where we sample for benthic macroinvertebrates (small, spineless organisms that live on the bottoms of lakes and rivers) followed by an in-person practical session where participants will be able to learn how to sample for benthos along a real lake shore. Registration is free thanks to the financial assistance of the Great Lakes Local Action Fund and remains open until July 11, 2021.
